See a list with symbols used in Local Portals and in NaturaList.

Not all symbols are present in all local portals. Some may differ their meaning slightly from portal to portal.
Refer to Menu > Useful information > Symbol explanation in your local portal for specific meaning to the portal.


    ENTERING DATA (Web)


Name Description

Submit

Press to see options to enter observations. Only available when zoom is applied. See Web interface > Submitting records to enter observations.

Add sightings on this locality

Observations are linked to the selected location. They do not indicate the exact position of the individual(s). See Web interface > Submitting records > Precise site choice > Add sightings on this locality for details.

Add a precise sighting

Observations are placed at their exact position. See Web interface > Submitting records > Precise site choice > Add a precise sighting for details.

Fill in a daily form

Observations belong to a list. It requires entering date, time and number of individuals. See Web interface > Submitting records > Precise site choice > Fill a daily form for this locality for details.

Close panel to enter data

Close panel and return to map.

Date

Click on the calendar to select month, year and day of your observation. See Web interface > Submitting records > Transmit my sighting > If accessed from add sightings on this locality or add precise location > Mandatory fields >Date and time for details.

Mandatory fields

Fields marked with an asterisk are required in order to submit your data.

Information

Click to open a quick note about the section.



    EXPORT / IMPORT


Name Description

Tab separated plain text(.txt)
Data stored as a text, with columns separated by spaces. It can be opened with Microsoft Notepad, WordPad and TextEdit.

MS Excel file (.xlsx)
Spreadsheets. It can be opened with Microsoft Excel.

Google Earth (.KML)
Geo-referenced information that can be displayed in maps. It can be opened with GoogleEarth, but also with other GIS software.

eXtensible Markup Language (.XML)
Data encrypted to be transferred between two computers through the web. It is used for the API.

JavaScript Object Notation (.JSON)
Data encrypted to be transferred between two computers through the web. It is used for the API.

Templates
Open a list of existing templates. See Web interface > Exporting your data > Templates for more information about templates.

File ready to download
Click on the file name to download.

Information
See details of the file to Export.

File uploaded
File totally or partially uploaded.

Error
File failed to upload.

Blue
Settings are underway, or import has been stool at the Settings phase. See Importing your data > Consulting your imports for details.

Green
When exporting, the file is ready to download (see Exporting your data);
when importing, the file successfully uploaded (see Importing your data > Consulting your imports).

Orange
When exporting, the file is being created (see Exporting your data);
when importing, the file partially uploaded (see Importing your data > Consulting your imports).

Red
File failed to upload. Open the panel to see the reason (see Importing your data > Consulting your imports for details).

Open panel
Open panel to see details on the imported process.

Close panel
Close details panel.

Delete the file
Delete the file.



    GEOMETRY


Name Description
Cartographic layer
Select the cartographic layer to display. Note all layers are available in all portals.
Zoom in
Zoom in to see the map in more detail.
Zoom out
Zoom out to see a smaller map.
Draw bounding box
Edit a Bounding box as if Editing a polygon.

Adjust sonogram
Shorten/enlarge area to reproduce. See Web interface > Sound player for details.

Move sonogram
Move area to reproduce. See Web interface > Sound player for details.

New playback window
Select area to reproduce. See Web interface > Sound player for details.

Delete playback window
Delete the current area to reproduce (current red window). See Web interface > Sound player for details.

Clear all playback windows
